Akili looked at the door to the office and thought for a moment, //I haven't been here for long, but I would very much like to prove that I will be a valuable asset to the order... hopefully asking for a mission will show it in a way.// She knocked on the door, waiting for a reply to ensure that it was alright for her to enter.

Demitri was currently finishing the last bit of paperwork he had to do for the month. He heard the knock and was about to motion for whoever it was to come in when he realized the door to his office was shut. "Oh right, come in." He finished the last page and placed it down, looking up to see who it was.

She let out a soft sigh of relief, she guessed that she was 'glad' that it was one of the second-in-commands and not one of the superiors. "Hello Demitri." She looked to his desk and saw the paperwork, "Are you busy? If you are i'll come back later." She crossed her arms and frowned a bit, she didn't want to intrude upon anyone else's job.

"Hello there Akili, long time no see." He smiled and noticed her slight 'apprehension', "It's fine actually. I just finished the last of the paperwork actually. Was there something you needed?"

She let her hands fall to her side. "That's good! I thought I was intruding upon you doing your job. Oh? Uh... I wanted to ask for a mission actually, according to the protocol I assume I'm supposed to ask a Second-in-Command or a Superior and well this was the first office I could find..." She smiled 'sheepishly'.

He shook his head, "It's fine, giving missions is part of my job you know." He reached for a slip on his desk and looked at it for a moment before filling it out. After a moment he got up from his chair and walked over to her, holding the paper out to her, "You have a choice on who you pick here. So give it some thought before you make a decision. Also keep in mind that both of us are of a higher rank, so it's unlikely that you'd defeat us. We simply want to test your endurance."

"That would make sense wouldn't it. It must be interesting, giving out missions to other members. Wait! Do you go on missions yourself? Do you assign your own or what? If you do that would be so unfair!" She pouted a bit before taking the paper from him. "A higher rank... what for?" She read the paper, realizing what he'd meant by the last question. "Nevermind the last question Demitri. I found the answer... so I just like pick between the two? I train with one of them? Where do I go?"

"I'd venture to say it would." Demitri laughed softly, "slow down there, I can only answer one question at a time Akili. I do go on missions myself, if I want to I talk to Nexias or EX since I can't assign myself the mission." He waited for her to read over the paper and ask about anything else. "You pick between one of them. Nexias or myself and after you talk to whoever you pick a time will be set and they'll show you were the training arena is."

She smiled and listened carefully, sure to get all the answers to her inquiries. "Okay, so I think on who i'd like to spar with and just notify whoever it is? There's a training arena!? How big is this castle?!"

"Yes, just find me or Nexias and let us know." He shook his head, "Yes, there is. There's two of them in fact. It's a very big castle you know. If you want exact info i'm not the person to ask."

She nodded, "could I ask what element she has? Am I allowed to ask that? What is your element? I don't think I know that..." She trailed off thinking of more questions based around the two and their fighting prowess.

"You're just full of questions aren't you? I don't think there's anything saying I can't tell you anyway. Nexias fights with spirits, she's able to control and summon them. She is also able to do more than that, but I'll leave some to the imagination there. Also before you ask she fights with two daggers. As for me, I'm able to control glass. Which is somewhat similar to your element. It's not as strong, but I'm able to put up a very good fight with it as I know very well how to use it. My weapon is a blade-staff that's about as tall as I am, it's lightweight but a blunt weapon. Does that answer your questions Akili?"

She nodded. //Nexias is able to control spirits?! My element would only boost her power so I don't think i'd want to fight her... plus isn't she a Superior? I don't even think i'd be able to get within a few feet of her... Demitri however would probably be an easier fight- well at least i'd probably be able to get closer to him even if he does wield a larger weapon. Plus I believe crystal is able to shatter glass so I can fend of a few of his attacks that way... if he even fights like that, that is.// "That does. Thank you Demitri, I also thought about it already as you were explaining your and Nexias's elements and I figured out who i'd like to pick."

"It's not a problem Akili, and you have? That was pretty quick..."

She nodded, "I have. I want to train with you. Nothing against Nexias, I just think that it would be easier."

"Are you sure? And just because my element is glass doesn't mean that sparring with me would be any easier you know." He smirked a bit, "In fact it may even be tougher. But I think you'll just have to find out about that."

"I'm very sure!" She stopped for a moment, realizing what she'd said may have come off as an insult, "I didn't mean it like that! I just thought since my element is a little tougher than yours we'd probably be on a level playing field there." She stood up, puffed her chest out and straightened her shoulders, trying to appear taller than she was. "I think I will have to find out about that Demitri."

Demitri just smiled, her attempt to appear slightly more lethal was kind of adorable. "It's settled then, when would you like to settle this? Also nice try but I don't think trying to boost your height will work on someone who's got eight inches on you."

"Could we do it now? I'm pretty much ready so I have no need to wait and hey! I tried okay! Maybe you should stop being so tall, it's not like I can just magically clap my hands and become taller."

That's fine by me, as you just saw i'm done the paperwork and well I can hand that to Nexias tomorrow. Also you know you could just create crystal pillars to stand on that are a foot tall right? Then you'd have another four inches on me and then maybe you'd be threatening." He smirked, "But enough on that, shall we head off to the training arena?"

She pouted and realized that she should've done that earlier, "Stop making good suggestions! I knew I could've done that you know." She looked off to the side for a moment but then looked back to Demitri. "That sounds fine to me. Lead the way, especially since I have no idea where it is."

"I respectfully refuse. Oh sure you did." He smiled and flicked his wrist, "Just head on through the corridor, it leads right there."

She rolled her eyes and walked through the corridor, stepping out into the training arena. She looked around and was in awe of it as she'd been used to sparing in much smaller clearings. Demitri stepped out behind her, "Having fun there? It's large so that whenever anyone trains they're less likely to do damage to the walls. Although that still manages to happen sometimes..."

She stepped to the side and shrugged, "I guess? That makes sense, if it's a big place and you throw something it'll be more likely to hit the floor and not the wall... plus aren't those things costly to replace?"

"Yes walls are costly to replace. Anyway, shall we start or will we be having idle talk for a bit longer?"

"Right. We should do that." She walked a few steps away from Demitri before she summoned her rapier. "This is what i'm supposed to do right? It's like a duel kind of? Just not with guns and death?"

Demitri nodded and took a few steps back as well, summoning Equilibrium in the process. "Ideally, yes. So you're good... in a way, only the 'ten' step rule really." He flipped his weapon and charged at her. She nodded, being sure to catalog that for later. She quickly stepped to the side as soon as she realized Demitri was charging at her with a very sharp weapon in his hands. She immediately went to summon a crystal projectile to throw at him. Demitri noticed her movement, spun Equilibrium around and dug it into the ground to stop it so that he was a few feet away from her. He saw the projectile but currently made no move to hinder or stop it. Akili waited for a moment, trying to gauge just where she should throw it. He'd obviously have some time to dodge it but it would be best if she could cur- OR she could charge at him when she throw it, try and blitz him. She got ready to run, as soon as she was, Akili threw the projectile and charged at him with her rapier ready to slash at him. Demitri went to block the projectile with Equilibrium but changed direction mid-spin noticing that Akili was charging at him as well. It wasn't a bad strategy to use, in fact it was one he used himself on occasion. He dodged the crystal and parried Akili's rapier. Akili moved her foot so that she'd stand a good chance parrying Demitri's weapon. It looked like he'd put some force into the parry, meaning they'd be locked for a bit if neither of them let up. She pushed on Equilibrium a little bit to try and test just how much of his weight he'd put into the parry. Demitri didn't expect her to push back on the parry and he moved just a bit so that he could put more force into it. He'd hoped she wouldn't realize just how easy it would be to knock him over, she seemed like she'd weigh more than him (in fact a majority of those in the order did). Akili kept up with his return and thought on what to do next, they clearly couldn't stand here deadlocked for the entire time. She looked at his grip on Equilibrium, noticing that he'd had quite a tight grip on it for a parry. She'd had a good grip on her weapon but it's not like she was putting a lot of force behi- Why would he need to put a lot of force into it? Perhaps there's a fault that she could exploit, however parrying wouldn't be the best way to do so. She pushed forward a bit and then quickly slid back, releasing the parry and getting a few feet away from Demitri. Demitri was a little 'relieved' that she'd given up on the parry, however her second push almost caused him to go back a bit. However it seemed she'd come to the realization that they'd be there for a while if they just did that. He flipped Equilibrium so he could attack again. This time he summoned several small glass projectiles that were a hybrid of plain glass and glass fiber. She quickly summoned crystal shards and flung them at his hand that held Equilibrium. If she could disarm him for a bit it would be easier to get closer. Demitri quickly moved his hand and used Equilibrium to knock a few of them down as well. He flung his glass projectiles back at her.

She quickly tried to block a few with her rapier before stepping past them. Only one of them managed to graze her skirt. "That was a close one..."

"It would've been closer if you'd decided to try and parry all of them." Demitri let his grip on Equilibrium loosen, the sharp end made a soft clink as it hit the floor. He saw how she defended, some minor use of her element and how good she was with her weapon. He hadn't quite expected her to parry as many as she did. He tapped Equilibrium on the ground a few times.

"I suppose that's true." She stood there ready to swing her rapier if she needed to, however she made no move to yet. Demitri didn't seem to be making any moves either actually... But he was fairly quick so even if she did go for something he'd probably be able to block it. Although he did mention that it was unlikely she'd even land a blow on them. She summoned another small shard, this time it was more needle like. Immediately she flung it at Demitri, casting holy on it and hoping it would hit. Since they were nobodies it would probably do something? At least she'd hope it would do something.

Demitri didn't notice the light shard until it was about to hit him, he quickly summoned a small sheet of glass fiber to stop it. It just barely scratched the surface before it hit the ground with a light plink. "Fira," he quickly aimed the spell at her and waited to see how she'd react. So far he only knew that she had Holy - which was because of the shard she'd just flung at him.

Akili saw the spell and paused for a moment too long before she went to block it. She tried to side-step out of the way only to have just a bit of her shoulder get hit, she turned so fast as soon as the burn registered that her hair didn't get scorched. She drover her rapier into the ground so that it would stay in place and moved her hand to her shoulder, "cure." She moved her shoulder after healing it out of habit to make sure it was alright, granted that it still hurt. Not that she was going to say anything. It probably wouldn't be a good idea to throw a bunch of things and curse out someone of a higher rank because they managed to leave a nice burn on your shoulder. Demitri waited to make sure she was fine and then proceeded to summon a few shards of glass. The shards floated parallel to his shoulder, he lit Equilibrium on fire so that he could use it like a bat. Demitri noticed the look of bewilderment on her face and proceeded to flip Equilibrium and swing it like a bat, hitting the shards and sending them flying after being engulfed in very hot flames for a moment.

Akili's eyes widened at the heated glass that was getting flung at her, "Oh shi- Wait! Reflect!" She grabbed her rapier and moved so that she could use it if she had to. However the reflect should parry the glass.

"Well played Akili." Demitri moved forward and went to slash in front of Akili to find out if the spell was still active. She noticed just how thin he was at this point and the realization of why he held Equilibrium the way he did. It's because of his weight! It's not a heavy weapon but he had to put more weight then he had into the return! Then that means I may way more than him, well I could try tackling him... She looked to see that he was just about to swing so she dropped her weapon and dashed forward at him, aiming to hit him in the torso and potentially knock him over. Demitri was about to swing his weapon down when he realized Akili was running right at him, without a weapon. He was about to ask what possessed her to do that when she ran right into him, causing him to drop Equilibrium and try to push her off. However he found this to end terribly as soon as his head connected with the floor. At this point he also realized that she obviously weighed more than him considering she'd just managed to knock the air out of his lungs and knock him on the floor with a lot of ease. He was strong but she managed to take him by surprise. Demitri didn't move for a few seconds, he was simply trying to figure out what the fuck just happened.

Akili closed her eyes right before she ran into Demitri and didn't bother to open them until she heard a loud clatter and than a dull cracking sound. Turns out she actually succeeded in tackling Demitri considering she was actually sitting on his chest at this point. He looked absolutely befuddled at this point. She realized that that crack was probably from Demitri and that she may have injured him... she just didn't even think that she'd actually weigh enough to hit him like a freight train. "...Are you okay? You don't look okay... wait I think you're just that pale, nevermind."

"I may be dying? Not too sure though because I'm still processing it. I can't tell whether that crack was one of my ribs or my head." He paused for a moment, "I didn't even know what you were doing until you ran right into me. Nor did I really expect you to have been able to well tackle me. It didn't even feel like you had to try on that..."

"Are you somehow insulting my weight? I thought I wasn't going to knock you over because you should weigh more than me. Especially if you're taller than me."

"I'm not insulting your weight at all. I'm taller but I don't weigh a lot." //That was such a stupid thing to say, I am so screwed.//

"Really? Oh? How much do you weigh then?" Akili put her hands on her hips and glared at him.

"I weigh like one hundred and forty-four pounds or something...?" //I should really get her off of me before she kills me. That glare isn't helping either...//

"That is such bullshit! You are eight inches taller than me and you weigh significantly less!" She summoned her rapier, "That is so unfair." Demitri just remained quiet and kept his eyes on the rapier that she was brazenly swinging about. //Please don't stab me...// Akili flipped her rapier over and proceeded to try and stab him with it.

Demitri summoned glass fiber on his palms and caught the blade, "Akili that's a bit of an over-reaction don't you think?"

"It is not, let me make something crystal clear to you Demitri. Maybe if you didn't have some fantastic genetics you wouldn't have such a fine weight that women would be envious of. And a nice figure too." Akili unsummoned her rapier and crossed her arms.

"You know making a pun in the middle of a fight is not going to help you there. Also i'm not sure if I should be insulted or complimented because that started off as a threat but I think you're now complimenting me?" He smiled a bit.

Akili realized her words and felt her cheeks burn a little, "that's... definitely an insult. Yep, totally an insult."

"You definitely sound believable there. Anyway I think you've passed training now so can you please get off of me?"

"Tch, it's not like I sound like you or anything." She turned her head to the side, she wasn't quite ready to stamp out this fire yet.

"Actually you do. Anyway," Demitri quickly pushed Akili off of him and stood up. "I'm going to go now, you've passed training and just remember to hand in your mission report." He summoned a corridor and stepped through it, deciding it was better to get the hell out of there before she attempted to stab him again.

"Excuse me?!" She stood up and was about to run back after him but he'd been quick enough to get out of there. She did pass training however she wasn't sure if what he said was an insult or not.

I can't draw battle scenes, but I thought this was going to end up like an epic battle in which all the badassery occurs and then it just ends up being Akili realizes she weighs more than Demitri and tackles him. Also puns.
^I really enjoyed RPing this and I can't wait to do another mission.

This was very fun though, as training and as an RP.

This is still amazing and just imagining this is like: twenty out of ten.
I'm glad you enjoyed this though! It was such a fun RP.

And then the end. The end. It was a slippery slope that was amazing.
